The holiday season is coming up fast! And what better way to celebrate than to share the joy with others. This year, we have not one, not two, but THREE ways to give for the Holidays!
Adopt A Family
Our programs assist single individuals and adults with children who are survivors of domestic violence. These families have achieved safe, permanent housing and are still being supported by TWSH’s AfterCare program as they continue to heal from abuse. You can adopt a single individual or an entire family. Click here to Adopt a Family.
How it works
We provide a detailed wish list and family profile for each of our families. Sponsors then ‘adopt’ a family and purchase the items on their wish list. Items may be delivered to our drop off location with families number starting on December 1-December 13, 2017. We wrap them and distribute them to clients starting Dec. 15th. For detailed guidelines and suggested spending amounts, click here.
Family information is now available online! Thank you for your patience during our website transition!
The Gift of Giving
Sometimes the best gift we can give a shelter resident is the gift of giving in and of itself. If violence hadn’t interrupted their lives, shelter residents would be at their own home, trimming their tree, lighting their Menorah or engaging in their family’s special traditions. For most people, that would also include shopping and choosing the perfect gift for their family. Consider organizing a gift card drive and give the gift of independence and empowerment. Some suggestions for gift cards include: Walmart, Target, Visa/Master card, Quick Trip. Please contact Yolanda Holton at email@example.com or phone at (314) 772-4535 for gift card pick-up.
Toy donations allow moms staying at The Women’s Safe House to select special gifts for their child(ren) at our Christmas Store (at no cost, of course!). Gifts are then carefully wrapped by our elves and delivered by Santa on Christmas morning, bringing the joy of the holidays to victims who often leave everything to find safety.
Toys (all ages)
Any other new items you would like to see under your own tree. Please bring NEW, unwrapped gifts, so the elves have plenty to do!
