Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Women’s Safe House. Since 1977, with the leadership and assistance of volunteers like you, The Women’s Safe House has been in place to help empower women and children impacted by domestic violence. Volunteers serve a vital role within our organization, whether it’s providing childcare assistance, a welcoming voice of compassion and care on the crisis intervention hotline, or even getting their hands dirty with the maintenance and beautification of our facility or sorting through hundreds of boxes of donated items – volunteers are ESSENTIAL!

Our Volunteer Services aim to support the mission of The Women’s Safe House through community involvement, and continued education and increased awareness of domestic violence. Until the violence stops, The Women’s Safe House will be here to provide safe shelter and transitional living services to families escaping domestic abuse. And until the violence stops, volunteers are needed to stand in the gap and use their time, talent, and resources to make a difference in the lives of the women and children we serve.

Each year, The Women’s Safe House counts on the support of over 500 volunteers to provide Direct and Non-Direct volunteer services. Direct services volunteers will have direct contact with the women and children of The Women’s Safe House on a continuous basis. Nondirect volunteers will help aid in short-term activities that support a particular department or the overall function of the daily operations.

Individual and Organization Volunteer Opportunities are available.
