The holiday season is coming up fast! Though there have been many challenges and changes due to COVID-19, this year we are focused on giving the gift of Hope and Healing and what better way to do that than by getting involved. There are many ways to get involved and help us spread the holiday cheer.
Adopt – A – Family
Our programs assist single individuals and adults with children who are survivors of domestic violence. For the first time, we are allowing our supporters to adopt families within our shelter in addition to those that are supported by our AfterCare Program. The families in our AfterCare program have achieved safe, permanent housing and are still being supported by TWSH as they continue to heal from abuse. You can adopt a single individual or an entire family. Click here to Adopt a Family.
How it works
We provide a detailed wish list and family profile for each of our families. Sponsors then ‘adopt’ a family and purchase the items on their wish list. Gifts may be delivered to our drop-off location starting on December 7th-December 18, 2020 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Remember to include the family identification number on all the gift bags. We distribute them to clients beginning Dec. 21st. For detailed guidelines and suggested spending amounts, click here
Family information is now available here! Thank you for your patience during our website transition!

Holiday Volunteering
Want to volunteer over the holidays as a group or individual? We’ve got opportunities for you!
Donate
This year consider making a monetary donation to sustain our programs that support the women and children in our shelter. No gift is too small! We rely on the support from our community to continue serving victims of domestic violence. Last year with your support we were able to shelter 285 women and children, and we plan to serve that many in the coming year. To make an online donation click here.
Contribute over $100 and you will be eligible to receive MO State Tax Credits for 50% of the donation amount.
If you have any questions about donating or volunteering over the holidays please email Jenelle Nelson or call (314) 772-4535.
